Just when you thought you heard it all and seen it all, racism rears it’s ugly head once again. Acura only want the light skin black people to partake in their Superbowl commercial starring Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno….that was part of the qualifications.
You know that Acura commercial with Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno that aired during the Super Bowl — well, we got hold of the casting call document, and they were very specific/exclusionary about their dream African American car dealer.
According to the casting doc, the role of African American car dealer would be played by a “Nice looking, friendly, Not too dark” African American car dealer.
We just got hold of the document from an African American actor who didn’t fit the profile, and who’s pissed.
We made lots of calls, trying to find out why “dark” African Americans weren’t right for the role. Someone associated with casting the commercial tells us … one of the reasons for the “not too dark” restriction was because lighting and special effects would get tricky.
We made calls to Acura but no one got back to us.
Mediajuicejoint: I love when Major Brands/Corporations show their true colors, that’s why I’ve never purchased Tommy Hilfiger clothing, and Polo is the winning choice hands down.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you even if it might be crumbs, you never know when that’s all you have left to get full from.
Middle Finger to you Acura.
Black People, we do make purchasing decision, the type of car we drive and where we purchase it from……..Please don’t buy an Acura or purchase from Nissan /Acura dealers.
Show them that our dollars make the world spin too.
Jerry won’t stop at nothing to be #1 but I bet the buck stops as soon as he has to walk an eighth of a mile in the light of all light skinned black shoes, you can take that to the bank and cash it.
FYI I am not attacking Jerry, I am a fan of his dry humor, and I’m quite sure Jerry was left in the Dark about the so called qualifications for the part.
