Nick Ashford Moutown’s Hit Maker Passed Away at 70 years of Age

 

Nick Ashford was a songwriter and singer. He performed with his lovely wife of 36 years. He was one of the driving factors for Motown’s Success. He wrote Marvin Gaye’s “Aint No Mountain Higher Enough” among other Hits for Diana Ross, Ray Charles and Tammi Terrell. He left Berry Gordon’s nest to spread his wings with wife Valerie, they are better known as the dynamic duo Ashford & Simpson and we all remember “Solid As A Rock”. He had a beautiful voice which was nurtured in church as a young man. Ashford had Throat Cancer. He passed away at seventy years old. The Legendary songwriters were still creating music working with the late Amy Winehouse  on “Tears Dry On Their Own”. He leaves to mourn his lovely wife who never left his side and two beautiful daughters. He was part of Music’s Revolution and he will truly be missed.
