One would embark upon success rubbing shoulders with the HNIC, magnifying his earnings with multimillionaire dollar business ventures and securing his wealth with the hottest chic in the game, while the other one, whose name Jay Z never seem to utter these days is wallowing in a heap of financial debt…….but still he may rise. Damon Dash former CEO of Roc-A-Fella records lived the life, and what a life he lived….. Money, Parting, Women, and Lavish living without a well though out plan lead him down a road riddle with debt. Drunk off of power hindered his ability to think outside the box. When his friend/foe was thinking of his master plan and executing it behind close doors, Mr. Dash was being pushed unbeknownst to him, further away from his constituents that once flourished under his reign. One must ask the unspoken…….Did he deserve to be exiled? Dash remained silent for many years, and watched his once upon a time, friend Jay ride the wave of success. The man who once boasted in an interview of owning 1500 pairs of shoes and never wearing the same clothing item twice broke his silence and spoke about his misfortunes, and his content for the remaining chapters of his life…vows to make it back on top. Dame in a recent interview with nydailynews stated “I can’t touch my money. I can’t pay certain bills,” Dash said in a wide-ranging talk on Saturday. “But I’m still working every day. It’s not stopping me from hustling. I am an entrepreneur. I am real.” Sounds like a man who have learned a lesson in his Hard Knock Life, may be on the rise again with or without music.

Jay Z Open letter released on his website Life and Times dispels and addresses the flack the Jayonce’s have endured over these past few weeks. Jay pens a letter via lyrics over a dope beat. Jay has a way with words and he cleverly play on every situation and opposition letting his fans and his critics know that, no matter what you say, do, or think he’s still winning. via Huff Post Jay-Z and Beyonce don’t always address rumors, but when they do, they don’t hold back. Beyonce made a whole movie to dispel a few rumors about her pregnancy and life, and on Thursday, Jay-Z released “Open Letter,” a blistering diss track that takes aim at politicians criticizing the couple’s trip to Cuba, mocks stories about his new sports management company and even throws a bit of shade Barack Obama’s way.
“Politicians never did sh-t for me / except lie to me, distort history,” Hov raps after boasting that he “done turned Havana into Atlanta.”
“They wanna give me jail time and a fine — Fine, let me commit a real crime,” he says, referencing conservative politician’s efforts to investigate his trip to Cuba. “Obama said, ‘Chill you’re going to get me impeached’ / You don’t need this sh-t anyway, chill with me on the beach.”
Swizz Beatz and Timbaland produced the track. Swizz can be heard adding his signature “right!” and “God damn it!” drops throughout the track. He also memorably repeats the line “Y’all goin’ learn today,” a refrain Jay picks up later in the song.
In a morning call on New York’s Hot 97, Swizz revealed that the song was started in Jay-Z’s office. “I had the portable drum machine with me, then we went down to the 40/40 [club] to watch the game,” he said. “Then [Timbaland] came by and was like, ‘That beat is crazy.’ Next morning, Jay called me with verses.”
Hot 97 played the record on repeat for hours. Ebro Darden, the station’s programming director, makes an appearance on the song, ad-libbing “you got scanners, we got scanners.” Trey Songz is also featured — he’s the man singing opera in the background.
Jay’s plans to start a new sports agency — and finance the project by unloading his minority share in the Brooklyn Nets — also make an appearance in the song:
“I woulda moved the Nets to Brooklyn for free Except I made millions off you f–king dweebs I still own the building, I’m still keeping my seats You buy that bullsh-t, you better keep your receipts.”
“Open Letter” and Beyonce’s “Bow Down” (in which the singer calls her peers “bitches” and demands they “bow down” before her) represent hip-hop’s royal couple flexing their musical muscles after keeping things politically correct during the 2012 election cycle. As big supporters and friends of the First Family, they held fundraisers and appeared in ads for the Obama campaign. J Cole and Miguels’s new hit song “Power Trip” has some dark images to go along with the story telling. Damn two bad niccas in this video kept me emotionally engulfed in captivity for the moment. The video is eerie and visually stimulating. The scenes are flashes of nights filled with strippers, money, and sex….. playing up to the plot of murder. Ye thinks the song is overrated and I concur, however Jay -Z remained silent about the shade. Justin on the other hand rearranged his lyrics to the song to say ” My check it out below…mark 2.21.
