The family of hip hop exec Chris Lighty have asked for a second autopsy to be performed after casting doubt over his suicide.
The 44-year-old Lighty, who helped and managed the careers of many luminaries in the industry such as Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Mariah Carey and 50 Cent, was found dead outside of his Bronx home with a single gunshot wound to the head last week. It has been reported that Lighty took his own life after allegedly arguing with his wife.
The medical examiner has rules his death a suicide but Lighty’s brother, Dave, has expressed doubt. Famed forensic pathologist Michael Baden has been brought in to perform another autopsy. Baden, who has testified on numerous high-profile cases such as the O.J. Simpson trial, says he is awaiting the results.
Lighty was laid to rest yesterday with a star-studded funeral that included Diddy, Missy, Elliot, Lauryn Hill, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Ed Lover, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Michael Bivins, Rev Run, Fat Joe, Wyclef Jean and Mona Scott-Young.

American Idol last night honored two Great Legendary Singers Stevie Wonder, and WhitneyHouston. Jessica Sanchez blew the judges, and the fans away with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s biggest hit, “I Will Always Love You.” So many professional entertainers have tried to do their rendition of the song, and most have crashed and burned.
Jessica Sanchez 16 yo hit every note, even the high notes with accuracy, poise, and precision, she almost brought a tear to my eyes. If she doesn’t win American Idol I will stop watching it. To have control over your voice at such an early age speaks volumes.
Jessica Sanchez has that it factor, whatever that it is and I heard that special something during the auditions. She already has a deal whether she wins or loses. She proved to the world last night that she is in it to win it, and she will soar even higher. She definitely wowed the Judges, Jimmy, and Mary J Blige.
Mary J Blige sung her heart out for the 2012 NBA All-Stars Game, she did a soulful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. She left every person who wasn’t tone deaf teary eyed. When I closed my eyes I didn’t know whether the rooster was crowing or dog howling, definitely some Bombs were going off in the air.
Mary should have cancelled that gig when she started practicing in the shower, her husband needs to get fired for letting her go out and belt those notes. I am a Mary fan and I truly believe Mary can do her thang, and most certainly has that it factor, but singing the National Anthem is not one of them.
Mary is still the ish in my book and I’ll continue to go to every concert when she come to Illadelphia. The whole performance wasn’t an epic fail, just the riffs and the ending, however I’m a need for Mary to never, ever, ever, make an attempt to sing the Star Spangled Banner ever again……..Whitney has messed it up for everybody SMH.

David Guetta second collabo with Nicki Minaj “Turn Me On ” puts Nicki in a whole new category. Her vocals with a little help of auto tunes is not half bad. The track fist pumpin techno sound will make the crowd go crazy in a club. The video has that eerie but exciting feel to it, first glance I thought it was Lady Gaga.
David Guetta cranked out a carved Nicki Minaj playing on the spin of all the rumors about the plastic Harajuku Barbie. I think the video is pure brilliance and takes Nicki’s animation to the next level. The music video was shot last year, and this was the perfect time to unleash since we are all waiting for “Pink Friday” to drop.
At the American Music Awards last November, MTV News spoke to Guetta about working with the fierce rapper. “I want to see the reaction that people are gonna have because they are going to hear Nicki like they’ve never heard her before. … I really can’t wait to get the reaction from the American audience when they’re gonna see her sing like this because she is killing it. … She always comes with the crazy ideas,” he said. “So it’s very exciting.”
REVOLUTION OF THE PLASTIC DOLLS ARE ON THE RISE, NICKI MINAJ TRYING TO GET THAT GAGA GWAP
The 2011 AMA Awards show took place last night and it had some highlights and stunning performances. Who had the best performance? Normally I would say Chris Brown, but not last night even though I enjoyed his footwork and his wish he can take it al back ode to Rihanna, JLo was the stunner last night.
Jlo is no Shakira but her hips don’t lie either, the way she moved said it all. When she backed it up like a Tonka on Pit Bull and you can tell she was holding back makes it crystal clear to why Diddy still have regrets.
Nicki robotic entrance and look wasn’t nothing out of the ordinary but I stayed fixed to the TV, love the pink hair, pretty face, animated Marilyn Monroe look. Drake was boring too, but I love “Headliners”. They could have combined their performances and got the same effect and saved some time.
Mary J Blige always stunning and provides a captivating experience on stage. She sings with all her heart and for that suspended moment you actually feel the connection. The closing was beautiful honoring the late Great Heavy D had me in tears.
BET aired Black Girls Rock last night and it was awesome. To see so many intelligent strong beautiful blackladies and young ladies in the room was phenomonal. BET has been putting out some real good programs lately but this one took the cake. The show was so inspiring to say the least. To see positivity at this level was refreshing. The accomplishments of the younger ladies was just a good image to our young black sistas, keeping them encouraged and focused.
To give back to someone less fortunate is the best feeling in the world. We all know how to receive but to give is an area that can always use improvement. To teach our young ladies that they are beautiful inside and out, to encourage them, and to instill in them that they are smart and will grow up to make a difference is important and can not be stressed enough.
Black Girls Rock performances and speeches were astounding and uplifting. The ladies did a wonderful job. JillScott spoken word knocked me out and then she topped it with” Hate On Me“, I was star struck. Mary J Blige performance put the cherry on top, she is another performer I’ve never missed in Philly or Jersey. Melonie Fiona, Estelle and Eryka Badu were fantastic. They even had Elle Varner a stunning new artist that performed her song titled ” I Only Wanna Give It To You” had me up on my feet doing my infamous two step. Beverly Bond I want to thank you for giving our young people a positive image of self to reflect on and also the inspiriational spiral effect. The teens who were at my house enjoyed the program and started thinking of ways they can help others, the brainstormers are going to do their first toy drive cudos. If you missed the show you can watch it HERE IN IT’S ENTIRETY and if you want to contribute to our youth DONATE HERE. …… NJOY THE PICS AND THE VIDEO
